About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a KC-46 Flight Deck Seat Reupholster contract. The Q&A addresses two key points: the number of seats to be reupholstered and the timeline for seat availability. Currently, the project is focused on pilot and copilot seats, with 44 seats for each position (88 total), while observer seats will be considered as a future option. The contractor can expect the first set of KC-46 seats to be available within 2 weeks, potentially sooner, according to the response from the government representative.

Q&A KC-46 Flight Deck Seat Reupholster
Q- Page 3 (Supplies or Services) of the solution shows an estimated 88 (44 Pilot & CoPilot, 44 Observes) Seats…
It’s our understanding the KC-46 flight deck has 1 Pilot, 1 Co-Pilot and 1 Instructor/Observer seat. Should the solution show (44 Pilot, 44 CoPilot and 44 Observers) 132 seats?
A- At this time we are concentrating on pilot and copilot seats. Observer seats will be considered as an option for a later time.
Q- What’s the best estimate when the first set of KC-46 seats will be available to the contractor? What’s the expected turn-time for a seat set?
A- Now, 2 weeks we hope, if not sooner.
