ESSENTIAL SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS OR DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT:
Radar Interface Card Upgrade (RIC) Vendor shall allocate dedicated technical resources to Hill AFB to provide updates to the RIC card PROMS to support a change in radar antenna address. The cards will be shipped back to the Vendor for upgrade and then shipped back to Hill AFB. Hill will install upgraded RIC cards back into their systems and verify functionality.
The Air Force is upgrading the APG-68 Radar antennas through the repair process. Once upgraded they communicate on address #6 on the Digibus rather than address #1. This means that the KOR Target Generators will not be able to make targets for Radars with the upgraded antennas. This one-direction repair means that soon there will be no more antennas with the old part number. This contract is to change to antenna address within the KOR RFTG firmware to make it compatible with the new antennas. This contract is for the 4 newer KOR RFTGs only. The Air Force does not own the source code to this firmware and therefore cannot make the change in-house. These KOR RFTGs are also no longer under any repair contract.
