About this file

This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) update related to a federal contract opportunity for the Missile Warning Operations Center (MWOC) Workstations. The key details are:

The MWOC workstation modernization contract aims to upgrade four height-adjustable, modular workstations to support 24/7 missile warning, missile defense, and space domain awareness operations. Each workstation will accommodate three 24-inch monitors, one laptop, and three phone systems. The contract is being issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base. The Q&A includes clarification on the room location, existing workstation details, requirements for console doors and slatwall panels, and the necessity of a site visit prior to proposal submission. It also addresses a discrepancy between the Statement of Work and drawings regarding the number of existing workstations to be disassembled, moved, and reassembled.

Missile Warning Operations Center Workstations Q/A

Updated Q/A (19 September 2024, only change is Q10 was added):

1. In which room are we needing to plan to install these (4) console workstations?

a. Missile Warning Operations Center (MWOC).

2. Ok thank you emailed engineering and upper management the desk isn’t an issue questioning other components such as front access base storage, real panel, rear access, base storage

a. Can you clarify what the question is here?

3. Could you happen to know the make and possible brand/model they are looking to replace.

a. I do not have the make of the desk but we could get them on site to look at it if needed. I know the POCs said that might be difficult to get individuals in the Radar but it is a high priority to get this project executed soon so we would make every effort to get them in here asap.

4. Engineer is asking for photo if available

a. Please see attached.

5. Could you please request the make and model for us to see what we are up against and let me know

a. Is this question asking about the other bids or what the current make/model of our current desk? See question 3.

6. Can pictures of the current consoles be provided or in lieu of those drawings? We will require this to provide an accurate quote for the disassembly of the four existing systems.

a. Please see attached.

7. Are these four existing consoles to be moved to the SIM CAB for storage or will they need to be re-assembled?

a. They will need to be re-assembled in the SIM CAB.

8. For the console doors and rear slatwall doors the SOW states they are to be metal. Are laminated doors and panels acceptable.

a. Yes.

9. The solicitation mentions a requirement for an in-person site visit to validate actual conditions.

Could you confirm if this visit is mandatory prior to submission, or can this be scheduled post-award?

a. Yes, the site visit can be scheduled post-award, it is not mandatory prior to submission of proposal.

10. The SOW describes (4) Existing Workstations to be removed and rebuilt in the adjacent room, but the drawing only shows (2). Since this will affect pricing, can you please have the end user confirm…There are drawings here that tells me what we is there but a disconnect in the SOW and the drawing set. The SOW Calls out for (4) Consoles to be disassembled, moved and reassembled in the SIM CAB. The drawing only shows a two-position console as shown below. Drawing HS- 150 Cape Cod shows a two-position console with a peninsula but the SOW calls out for four workstations to be disassembled, moved and reassembled in the SIM CAB. Is the drawing with 2 positions shown the entirety of this scope? Or are there additional positions such as the same configuration in the drawing quantity of two for four positions?

a. Yes the two positions pictured and we have two smaller desks/workstations behind them as well.
