SCOREBOARD QUESTIONS/ANSWERS:
Will there be a job walk that we can attend?
I can sponsor contractors on to conduct a site visit if necessary. Would there be an additional charge for this?
Can you provide the drawings/blueprints for this project?
I do not have any blueprints or drawings for this project
Will Edwards AFB provide the new digital scoreboard and the new steel beams?
We will not provide the scoreboard or steel support beams.
If I have to provide the new scoreboard, what specifications do you require?
Please see “Specifications” attachment for minimum scoreboard requirements.
Are there any bonding requirements for the contract?
They should be bonded and insured.
Are there any restrictions on subcontractors?
No restrictions from our end on subcontractors, must be able to get approval to access base.
Please confirm desired scoreboard should have a wireless control operation.
• Confirmed. Wireless control option is needed.
With regards to installation:
• Will the new scoreboard be in the same location?
The board will be in the same location.
• Are the power lines within 5' of the new scoreboards? Typically, we need power to run within 5' of a new scoreboard, is this feasible?
There are no power lines within 5 feet of it, however there is an electrical line the runs up the current beams to the board.
• Confirm cutting old I-beams down to grade is permissible, and digging out the whole foundation footings is not necessary.
Cutting I-beams down to grade is permissible. Upon inspection from subject-matter experts, the I-beam supports may not need to be cut down at all and they may be in good condition to install new scoreboard directly onto existing supports
Is the 60-day performance period flexible? Factory lead times may be cutting it close.
The 60-day performance period is flexible.
Why you would like to remove the beams which is already there?
The current poles are old and degraded and we are concerned about their structural integrity when installing a new board.
What is the pixel pitch you are looking for? Ex. 10 mm is a good viewing distance from 100ft +.
10mm sounds good to us.
The existing board has no cabinet around it. Do you want the back covered with a shroud?
Yes to a shroud
There is basic software that comes with the sign. Do you want the sign to be informational when not in use as a score keeper?
No, we really only need it for keeping scores, no additional informational displaying is needed.
Can you shop for me if I send you my sizes?
Yes
Why can't the existing poles be used?
The current poles are old and degraded and we are concerned about their structural integrity when installing a new board.
Does the end user need help determining what they want?
No, we know exactly what we want. The attached score board spec sheet is what we were trying to go with as it perfectly suits our needs.
