1) If the load bank voltage is 480V because The input voltage will routed through a 3 phase, dry type down transformer to a useable voltage for operations, then connection made via 200 amp load break connectors does not make sense. Please explain.
ANSWER: The input voltage of the load bank must be 4160 VAC/3800 VAC. There are no other options. The reason for that is because our power generation equipment outputs 4160 VAC and 3800 VAC. That means there will be a need for a dry type step down transformer onboard the piece of equipment to step the incoming 4160 VAC/3800 VAC to a more usable cooling fan/control voltage.
2) In addition, the load bank weight would most likely come nowhere near 24,700 lbs. That sounds more like the weight of a load bank which incorporates the dry type step down transformer into its integral enclosure
– this likely also seems to be more fitting to the dimensions they have listed. Please elaborate on what you require.
ANSWER: The load bank could very well come close to the weight identified because it's going to need an onboard dry type step down transformer within its enclosure. This would increase the weight of the load bank considerably.
I have attached the spec sheet of the exact product that is able to meet all our requirements for the operation and testing of our generators. This load bank manufactured by PD Systems is what we either need to go with, or let the bidding vendors know this is what needs to be replicated.
3) About the dimension; what does “~” means? " Width: ~ 118, Length: ~ 312, Height: ~ 130” ANSWER: “~” means approximately. These are approximate dimensions.
***Specifications are similar to the load bank provided by PD Systems.
