1.) What does double axel mean – Tandem axle or two axles?

Answer: The trailer needs to be tandem axle.

2.) Clarify “quad” tire per axle.

Answer: 4 tires per axle

3.) Advise if the end user is requesting dually tires per axle, for a total of 8 tires on the trailer?

Answer: Yes, 4 tires per axle (tandem axle)

4.) Identify type of trailer brakes

Answer: Tandem axle trailer with hydraulic brakes, parking brake, 3” adjustable height pintle eye, D.O.T. required sealed and shock mounted LED tail lights.

5.) The input voltage is 4160V but the Load Bank voltage is 480V. This would lead one to assume some sort of main transformer, but there is not such details included.

Answer: The input voltage will be 4160V routed through a 3 phase, dry type step down transformer to a useable 480V for operations

6.) The width of the unit at 118” which is too wide to legally trailer and would require very custom running gear. It would not be able to meet DOT requirements.

Answer A: Trailer and loadbank will not be transported on DOT approved roads.

Travel would be from storage facility to staging site, thus the need for the trailer.

7.) The trailer description does not meet the class of trailer required to tow the weight of such a unit. A trailer capable of such weight capability would be a Kingpin fifth wheel type (semi-trailer). A typical lunette eye trailer cannot handle this weight class. Unless this is to be a very custom low speed front steering axle with lunette eye tow bar.

Answer: Trailer and loadbank will not be transported on DOT approved roads nor travel over 10 MPH. Travel would be from storage facility to staging site, monthly thus the need for the trailer. Tandem axle trailer with hydraulic brakes, parking brake, 3” adjustable height pintle eye, D.O.T. required LED tail lights.

8.) Military tow vehicles are so numerous that this equipment description is just too ambiguous. Since this is an Air Force base, is potential could be a tarmac type tow vehicle, but that would require a very custom front steering axle trailer with tow bar.

Answer A: Trailer and loadbank will not be transported on DOT approved roads nor travel over 10 MPH. Travel would be from storage facility to staging site, no more than approximately 300 yards monthly thus the need for the trailer.

9.) The control function of overload indication of each load element is just not practical.

Answer: Acknowledged.

10.) Clarify the voltage? For load bank, the fan power and control power is same. Inform which voltage is used (3 phase 4 wire, 480/277V, 460/265V or 208/120V)?

Answer: Incoming voltage is 4160V, stepped down to 480V using a dry pack transformer. Fan voltage is 480V and control voltage is 120V (480V stepped down to

120V through transformer).
