About this file

This document is a detailed Work Write-Up for a residential home improvement project issued by the City of Jackson, Michigan, involving a property located at 1025 Chittock Ave in Jackson. The project encompasses comprehensive HVAC and plumbing upgrades, specifically including the replacement of an existing furnace with a new 95% efficient gas-fired forced air furnace, installation of a new air conditioning unit with a minimum SEER rating of 12, and replacement of the water heater. The work requires obtaining necessary permits, ensuring compliance with Michigan Mechanical and Plumbing Codes, and meeting specific installation standards such as proper ductwork, thermostat installation, and electrical connections.

The project appears to be part of a city-sponsored home improvement initiative, likely focused on residential energy efficiency and system modernization. While specific pricing details are not explicitly outlined, the work write-up indicates that the project will be competitively bid through the City of Jackson's e-Procurement Portal. Contractors must demonstrate compliance with civil rights regulations and equal employment opportunity standards. The scope of work includes technical specifications for equipment installation, code compliance, and system performance, with an emphasis on proper mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations that meet current Michigan building and safety standards.
