This solicitation is for the replacement of the office flooring in the Selawik National
Wildlife Refuge Headquarters Office Building located in Kotzebue, Alaska 99752 in accordance with the attached Section J, List of Documents, Exhibits, and Other Attachments.

1. Is there a place to store materials?
Yes, new materials can be stored in the building for the duration of the project.

Specification section 01 10 00 part 1.9. The contractor shall coordinate with the Refuge
Managerfor the location of a dumpster or other means provided by the contractor to temporarily store and secure demolished material outside the building.
2. Are there any furniture/appliance dollies?
This is clarified under the Specifications section 01 10 00, Part 2: ¿The refuge has two furniture dollies and one appliance dolly available for the contractor to use, otherwise the contractor shall provide all tools and equipment needed to accomplish work.¿ There are actually two (2) appliance dollies available in addition to the two (2) regular dollies. The contractor can use these dollies, but they will need to share these with the refuge staff as the staff assists preparing rooms for work.
3. Would you prefer something other than linoleum?
Chris and Anita stated that linoleum was the required flooring based on the Bio-based requirement for flooring.
4. Do you want the bathroom flooring to be coved up the wall?
Use cove base for all walls including the bathrooms.
5. Can the bathroom partitions be removed?
The Refuge staff will remove the bathroom partitions prior to flooring replacement. In accordance with Specification section 01 10 00
Part 1.4, the contractor shall ¿coordinate a room-work schedule with the COR at least three
(3) weeks prior to arrival on site to start work.¿ This coordination is critical to ensure that the building is prepared for the contractor to perform work.
6. When was the building last renovated?
Chris stated that ¿The building was last renovated in 1995.¿
7. Is the schedule flexible to accommodate the first barge schedule?
Refuge staff says that usually the first barge does not arrive into Kotzebue until early July.

The Refuge staff would prefer to have the work completed by the end of July due to field season schedules. Scheduling of the work onsite shall occur at mutually agreeable dates between the CO, COR, Refuge Manager and Contractor.
8. Can the gun safe be unloaded and moved? The Refuge Staff will remove the guns from the gun safe. The contractor shall assist the Refuge
Maintenance Supervisor in moving the empty gun safe.
9. Can replacing the Boiler Room floor be deleted from this requirement?
Yes, the requirement for linoleum in the
Mechanical room R121 shall be removed from
Proposal Option C. See question 11 for change in square foot requirements for linoleum.
10. Can replacing the Janitor¿s Closet floor be deleted from this requirement?
Yes, the requirement for linoleum in the
Janitor¿s closet R116 shall be removed from
Proposal Option C. See question 11 for change in square foot requirements for linoleum. Reduce approximate area of linoleum flooring to 1,146 square feet in Specification section 01 10 00 part 2.4,B,1.
11. Is housing available? No.
12. Is work limited to 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday?
The Refuge Staff will allow work in the building to occur from 7am-7pm Monday through Sunday.
This is contingent on scheduling of the work onsite to occur at mutually agreeable dates between the CO, COR, Refuge Manager and
Contractor. A refuge staff member must be present at all times that work is occurring.
13. Can the plant material in the Break Room be removed?
Yes, the plant material in the breakroom/kitchen
R114 will be removed by the refuge prior to work in this area.
14. Can the maps be removed from the map drawers?
Yes, the refuge can remove the maps from the map drawers

15. Can the papers and items be moved out of file cabinets?
Yes, all paper and personal items will be removed from file cabinets that will be required to be moved by the contractor.
All other terms and conditions remain the same.
