About this file

This document is a Notice of Intended Decision to Enter into a Single Source Contract posted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for American crocodile tracking studies. The FWC is seeking to procure GPS satellite tracking tags (SeaTrkr-4375-4 model) from Telonics Inc. that meet specific performance and design requirements, including the ability to be completely submersible, record location and dive data, and have a minimum 12-month battery life. Telonics Inc. is identified as the sole manufacturer, dealer, and distributor of the required transmitter model.

The intended single source contract is for up to $66,000. The contract will support the FWC's ongoing crocodile tracking research that has been conducted since 2018 using the Telonics transmitters. No competitive bidding process is required for this single source procurement. Interested parties have 72 hours to file a protest under Chapter 120, Florida Statutes, if they believe the single source justification is insufficient.
