About this file

This is an amendment document to a single-source procurement authorization issued by the Florida Department of Health, Environmental Laboratory. The document modifies the original procurement for Colilert and Enterolert reagents and supplies from IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., which are utilized to perform amplified testing of Enterococci in recreational water and total coliform and E. coli in drinking water. The amendment, effective March 13, 2026, changes the contract term from the originally proposed three-year period to a one-year term. The procurement was posted on March 4, 2026, with a response deadline of March 25, 2026. The contract encompasses multiple commodity categories including laboratory stands and racks, indicators and reagents, temperature measuring instruments, water testing equipment, laboratory glassware and plasticware, storage containers, laboratory implements, and sampling equipment necessary to maintain the department's accreditation for drinking water microbiology and non-potable water microbiology testing in accordance with The NELAC Institute (TNI) Standard Method 23rd edition lab analysis 9223B.

The estimated contract value for the one-year procurement period is $204,771.60. The single-source justification is based on IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. being the sole manufacturer and distributor of the specified reagents and supplies required to maintain the department's TNI accreditation. The procurement authorization was approved by Allegra Small, Purchasing Director of the Florida Department of Health, with Israel Campbell serving as the primary contact. The amendment represents a modification to the original procurement structure, reducing the commitment period to one year while maintaining the essential laboratory supply requirements for the department's water quality testing operations.
