About this file

This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) posted by the Florida Department of Health (FDOH), Office of Communications and Division of Disease Control & Health Protection, Bureau of Communicable Diseases, STD Section. The FDOH is requesting authorization to purchase as a single source a media campaign consisting of audio public service announcements (PSA) to be broadcast via radio and digital media outlets throughout the state. The campaign aims to educate target populations, including women of childbearing age, pregnant women, and healthcare professionals, on the benefits of regular STD testing and the importance of timely treatment, with a primary focus on syphilis and congenital syphilis. The estimated dollar amount for the 12-month campaign is $263,735.00, and the intended single source is iHeart Media, which has the capabilities and reach to effectively target the demographics in need of the department's message.

The justification for the single-source acquisition is that iHeart Media can reach the specific populations most impacted by syphilis and congenital syphilis, while other vendors had limited outreach capabilities and could only reach small portions of the population. The contract opportunity is applicable to Leon County and the city of Tallahassee.
