About this file
This is a Contractor Security Acknowledgement Form issued by the State of South Dakota, specifically designed to ensure compliance with the Bureau of Information Technology (BIT) Information Technology Security Policy. The form establishes that contractors and their employees who access non-public state technology infrastructure or information must acknowledge and agree to protect state technology and information assets from unauthorized activities including access, disclosure, modification, deletion, and usage. Contractors are required to follow all state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality and data handling, discuss any policy violations with designated state contacts, and understand that access to state technology infrastructure is a privilege that may be revoked at BIT management's discretion. All contractor access automatically terminates upon contract termination unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. The signatory must have authority to commit the entire contractor organization and all its employees to comply with these terms.
The form requires contractors to promptly report any policy violations to the designated State Contact and the BIT Help Desk at 605-773-4357. Individuals found to have violated the policy are subject to privilege revocation and potential breach of contract determination at the state's discretion. This acknowledgement form must be signed and returned to the designated BIT Contact prior to contract execution, serving as a binding agreement between the contractor and the State of South Dakota regarding information security obligations throughout the contract term.
