About this file
This file is an engineering drawing document (Volume 1) for the P683 Aircraft Engine Repair Facility project at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida. The drawings are technical appendices that support the Design-Bid-Build solicitation (N6945026R0005) issued by the Department of the Navy Naval Facilities Engineering Command.
The P683 project requires construction of approximately 300,000 gross-square-foot (GSF) one-story high-bay engine repair facility with 20,000 GSF of two-story support/office and administrative areas, plus a 300,000 GSF parking structure. The facility will support Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) operations for Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) engine repair and manufacturing. The structure features steel framing with precast concrete walls, metal panel systems, modified bitumen roofing, and shallow bearing foundation. Built-in equipment includes 29 double-girder bridge dual hoist cranes (eleven 4.5-ton and eighteen 2-ton capacity), automated vertical storage systems, and passenger elevators. The project also encompasses two surface parking lots (1.34-acre temporary gravel lot with 150 spaces and 3.24-acre asphalt lot with 288 spaces), a Loading Area Weather Protection zone along the southern facade, intersection improvements at Ranger and Birmingham, demolition of two existing 19,000 SF administration buildings and associated covered walkway, and relocation of displaced occupants to the new administration extension. The engineering drawings in this volume provide detailed specifications and technical requirements necessary for contractors to prepare competitive bids for the design and construction phases.
