Pump Minimum Refurbishment – Inspect pump bowls, shaft and enclosing tube for any unusual signs of damage, blast and recoat all painted metallic parts, replace wear rings, bearings, seals and gaskets. Perform dynamic balancing of the rotating assembly. Replace all instruments and sensors attached to the pump.

Pump Additional Refurbishment – Replace shaft if cracks are detected by ultrasonic inspection.

Low Service Pump Elective Refurbishment – If it is necessary to increase the low service pumping capacity, replace bowl assemblies in Pumps 4, 8 and 9 to increase flow capacity and optimize the use of non-overloading excess horsepower. If a bowl assembly replacement is anticipated, the parts can be obtained before the pump is removed. Elective refurbishment is not cost effective for Pump 3 because a larger impeller cannot be installed without overloading the motor horsepower. It would be cost effective to replace the complete pump and motor assembly for Pump 3.
