About this file
This is a bid specification exhibit for the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) competitive procurement (DOH26-002P) to purchase White Swiss Webster mice, with an estimated contract value below $150,000. The specification details requirements for Swiss Webster albino outbred mice originally derived from colonies at Notre Dame, Taconic, or Carworth facilities. Bidders must provide Animal Health Reports with each shipment documenting strain, quantity, sex, purchase order information, and any detected diseases within the colony. The mice must be outbred and available in two specific weight classes—12-15 grams and 17-20 grams, with acceptable variability of one gram for each class. Maturity for shipping is expected to occur at approximately three weeks of age, consistent with standard Swiss Webster growth patterns.
Shipments must originate from west coast facilities to ensure delivery within three business days, with a required lead time of 4-5 business days for fulfilling orders of varying sizes. The specification includes checkboxes for bidder confirmation of each requirement, with several marked as critical fail criteria if not met, including the provision of Animal Health Reports, adherence to specified weight ranges and breeding strategy, confirmation of appropriate maturity timing, west coast point of origin, and compliance with lead time requirements.
