Naval Special Warfare Command (WARCOM) requires the renewal of Cisco SmartNet support for the existing CISCO VoiP networking equipment at WARCOM. Cisco SmartNet support helps reduce the downtime with fast, expert technical support, flexible hardware coverage, and proactive device diagnostics. Services include access to the latest security updates, patches, and fixes for SmartNet covered equipment.
Action will be awarded on a sole-source basis under the authority of FAR 16.505(b)(2)(i)(C), "The order must be issued on a sole-source basis in the interest of economy and efficiency because it is a logical follow-on to an order already issued under the contract, provided that all awardees were give a fair opportunity to be considered for the original award."
Order H92240-16-F-0048 was awarded against DISYS Solutions, Inc's, NASA SEWP contract NNG16SD73B, on 01 July 2016. Award was a result of competitive request for quote H92240-16-Q-1029, competed among NASA SEWP contract holders (Ref. NASA SEWP RFQ 31919). A total of six quotes were received Original order involved a base period of twelve months, plus four one year option periods. In July 2019, the Government failed to exercise the next option period of the order. As a result of the failure to exercise the next option period for continuation of services, services will cease and communication capability on brand name CISCO equipment will cease. Failure to ensure communications will result in an adverse operating condition and will have an impact on readiness. This action will re-establish the two remaining contract option periods and will ensure continuity of communication services. Total period of performance for this action shall not exceed twenty-four months.
Not applicable. The Government will comply with posting requirements associated with this action.
The Government intends to re-compete this requirement for brand name CISCO services among re-sellers once the remaining and re-established periods of performance are exhausted. The Government anticipates requiring additional brand name services until current CISCO products reach end-of-life. Once end-of-life is reached on the current products, the Government will re-evaluate the marketplace for alternate products.
