About this file
This document is a Bidder Questions document for the Kansas Adjutant General's Cattle Pen Construction project (Event Number EVT0010170), containing detailed responses to specific technical and construction inquiries about the project. The document provides clarifications on various aspects of the cattle pen construction, including drawing availability, load-out chute specifications, pipe usage, concrete requirements, fencing attachment methods, end panel configurations, and structural details such as H-braces and post capping.
Key technical specifications include a load-out chute elevated to semi-trailer height, no bows or back stops in the alley or chute, and load-out chute and crowding tube to match specifications from Lynn Post and Pipe. Concrete can be bagged or truck-delivered, with the only requirement being that it must be mixed before placement. Used pipe is acceptable if in good condition, and continuous panels must be attached to posts using mounting brackets to allow slight movement and prevent weld cracking. End panels can be like those on the Lynn Post and Pipe website or a simple angle iron closure, and all open-top posts will be end-capped. H-braces will have one cross bar, and the project emphasizes flexibility in construction methods while maintaining specific structural integrity requirements.

Bidder Questions
EVT0010170
Kansas Adjutant General Cattle Pen Construction
1. Is there a set of plans, drawings, sketch or blueprint for this project?
Response: The drawing is attached.
2. Can the State provide a drawing/plans/sketch/blueprint of the corral/pen load out and area noting corner post locations, overheads, which side gates hang/swing on, crowd tub, H brace location, load alley width, etc.?
Response: It’s on the drawing.
3. Will the load out alley/chute be elevated to match the height of a semi-trailer?
Response: Yes, load out chute will be semi-trailer height.
4. Will bows or back stops be used in the alley or chute?
Response: No.
5. Can you please provide more specifics regarding the crowd tub. Is this to be built on site, if so, can we get a drawing with dimensions and specs regarding cross bracing on ground or overhead? Is there a prefabricated model we can see as an example? I.e. (prefert, gp, etc)
Response: Load-out chute and crowding tube will match specifications from Lynn Post and Pipe. Either built to same specs or purchased from them, or equivalent provider.
6. Is new/reject pipe required or can used/oilfield pipe be incorporated in the construction?
Response: Used pipe can be incorporated in the construction as long as it is still in good condition.
7. Is there a specification on the concrete used? (Truck poured, bagged, mixed on site, 3000 psi, etc.)
Response: No specs on the concrete to be used. Concrete can be bagged mixed on site or delivered on a truck. Only qualification is no dry packing, must be mixed before going in the hole.
8. Can contentious panels be welded directly to posts as an alternative to mounting brackets?
Response: No, mounting brackets must be used to attach continuous fencing to posts.
This allows for some slight give and prevents welds from cracking if there is any movement in the posts.

9. Can we get a picture or example of the “end panel” referred to? Typically ends are capped and welded or pounded flat and welded shut to post.
Response: End panels can be like the ones shown on the Lynn Post and Pipe website or as simple as a piece of angle iron that closes off the open end of the pipe fencing.
End panels will not be pounded flat.
10. Should overheads be end capped?
Response: All open top posts will be capped.
11. How many cross bars should the “H” braces have? Should they have 6 to match the fence?
Response: H-braces will have one cross bar.
