About this file
This document is an amendment to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Tennessee Department of Military for an archaeological survey project in East Tennessee. The amendment provides clarification and responses to questions received, including the availability of maps and GIS files for the 17 project locations. The project requires conducting archival research, performing archaeological surveys across approximately 148.70 acres, and preparing a comprehensive report with GIS data and management recommendations. The contract period is for 365 days from the notice to proceed, with a potential for extension. The estimated value of the contract is under $50,000, and the contractor must meet professional qualifications for archaeology as set forth by the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines.
The contract opportunity covers multiple counties in East Tennessee, including Anderson, Bradley, Campbell, McMinn, and Rhea Counties, as well as the Jacks Creek CDP. The purpose of the project is to identify archaeological sites or features that warrant protection under federal and state laws. Interested bidders must adhere to all state and federal regulations, including those set by the Tennessee State Historic Preservation Office.
