About this file
The document is an evaluation criteria file for a Water Safety Education program issued by Volusia County's Community Assistance Division in Florida, seeking non-profit organizations, cities, and schools to provide survival swim lessons to county youth. The county will distribute $60,000 in funding, potentially awarding grants to multiple agencies, with all funds to be expended by September 30, 2025. Applicants must demonstrate administrative capacity, employ certified swim instructors with at least one year of experience, and offer free or reduced-rate swimming lessons for children ages six months to twelve years old.
The evaluation criteria outline five key assessment areas: agency qualifications (25%), agency experience (25%), program description and service delivery (25%), program budget (15%), and areas served and special populations (10%). Reimbursement will be provided to approved providers after submitting documentation proving funds were used as intended. The program emphasizes reaching a wide range of county residents, including special populations, and requires a feasible program approach that meets the Children and Families Advisory Board requirements.
