About this file
This document is a request for proposals issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) for the development of a new 350-foot self-supporting radio communications tower and a 12' x 16' shelter/enclosure to replace an existing 300-foot guyed tower and shelter at the Goat Creek tower site in Kerr County, Texas. The project requires the decommissioning and removal of the existing tower, shelter, and associated equipment, as well as the construction of the new tower and shelter. The new tower must be designed to support various radio communications antennas and equipment, and the shelter must include a generator, HVAC system, and other specified features. The RFP provides detailed technical specifications for the tower and shelter, as well as requirements for site preparation, installation, and testing.
The contract opportunity is part of a larger statewide tower replacement initiative by DPS, which is seeking a contractor to provide tower decommissioning and new-build services at various sites throughout Texas. Pricing terms, set-asides, funding sources, and other salient contract details are not provided in the RFP document. Interested bidders are required to comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, and must provide the necessary permits, certifications, and inspections as part of the project.
