About this file

This document is an addendum to a solicitation issued by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) for the construction and demolition of cedar fencing at the Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The project includes the installation of cedar picket and cedar rail fencing at the Rim Cabin area and the construction of cedar picket fencing and a road gate near the Maintenance Complex. The work is to be completed within 270 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. A non-mandatory site visit was held on February 8, 2024, and the deadline for bid submission is 2:00 PM on March 5, 2024. TPWD will host a virtual bid opening at 3:00 PM on the same day. The addendum provides clarification on the installation location of the cedar posts and the responsibility for any potential damage to the existing concrete structures.

The solicitation does not provide any details on pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements or sources, or other salient financial information. The addendum focuses solely on technical specifications and project details.

ADDENDUM

Addendum Number: 1 Dated: 2/22/2024

Solicitation Number: MR11226

Solicitation Title: Palo Duro Canyon State Park Cedar Fencing

Due Date/Deadline: Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM Purchaser: Misty K. Wyatt, CTCD, CTCM

PURPOSE OF ADDENDUM: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Except as provided herein, all terms and conditions of the document referenced herein, remain unchanged and in full force and effect. The following are official revisions, specifications and/ or clarifications to this solicitation. This Addendum shall be attached to and form a part of the referenced solicitation document and any resulting awarded contract and must be considered in your response.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q1: Can you please specify installation location for 6” cedar posts 7 L3 along exiting concrete patio for Palo Duro Canyon Rim Cabins.

A1: Core drill holes for posts will be in the concrete patio slab between the concrete curb and Cabin #2 to avoid cutting into the existing concrete patio slab and retaining wall. The exact location for the fence line and core drilled holes will be marked on site by TPWD during the first on site meeting. Do not use jack hammers or any other type of equipment that could cause vibration and damage the structural integrity of the existing concrete retaining wall. Remove an approximately 15' x3' area of existing wood decking on the East end of the new fence.

(Marked up photo attached).

Q2: In the event the structural integrity is compromised by core drilling 12” holes in the sidewalk and behind the already crumbling retaining wall to fasten the posts in drawling 7 L3 in front of both rim cabins. Will TPW take responsibility for retaining wall, sidewalk and fencing failure?

A2: See answer to question #1. TPWD will take responsibility for retaining wall, sidewalk, and fencing failure that is not caused by contractor negligence.
