The project is identified as RFC 051851-24-04 and is being solicited by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The scope of work includes removing and replacing all wood panels, beams, and metal panels on the sides and roof of the salt shed, sandblasting and coating all exposed metal beams and studs, installing new plywood panels inside the unit, and priming and painting the outside lower concrete walls. The project is estimated to cost $45,000, and a bid guaranty/bid bond of $1,000 is required. The bid location is the TxDOT State Headquarters in Austin, Texas.
The contract documents indicate that beginning September 1, 2023, all bids must be submitted via the Bonfire platform, and bidder registration is required. Pre-qualification of contractors is waived, but the Uniform General Conditions outlined in the proposal documents detail specific requirements for contract award. If the project estimate or the contractor's estimate is greater than or equal to $100,000, the use of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) is mandated, and a HUB Subcontracting Plan (HSP) must be submitted with the proposal package.
