About this file

This document is a Pre-Proposal Meeting agenda for RFQ 70123018 issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the Production of Braille Copy Materials for Texas Public Schools. TEA is seeking responses from qualified contractors to produce accessible electronic files, copy (emboss), bind, ship, and ensure delivery of braille instructional materials adopted by the State Board of Education (SBOE) in November 2023 under Proclamation 2024. The awarded contractor(s) may also produce, ship, and ensure delivery of braille instructional materials copies for future SBOE adoptions, proclamations, or other TEA-developed instructional materials, as needed. The response deadline is January 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM CST.

The solicitation requires contractors to submit samples of braille materials for evaluation. TEA encourages subcontracting opportunities for Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs), and a HUB Subcontracting Plan is a required element of the response if subcontracting opportunities are determined to be probable. Contractors must maintain communication solely through the TEA Contracts and Purchasing Division to maintain a level playing field.
