About this file

This document is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for a building renovation project at the Center for Applied Research and Rural Innovation (CARRI) facility on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU) in Nacogdoches, Texas. The project includes renovations to the existing CARRI building, such as modifying the existing roofing system, parking lot improvements, drainage work, and other site improvements. The bid is due on October 17, 2023, at 3:00 PM. A pre-bid meeting and site visit is scheduled for August 28, 2023, at 9:00 AM, and all questions related to Addendum No. 2 must be submitted by September 28, 2023. The evaluation of bids and awards is expected to occur between October 18-20, 2023, with the contract expected to be issued on November 17, 2023. The substantial completion date is November 2024, and the facility is expected to be occupied by December 1, 2024.

The ITB includes pricing information, preference claims, and several bid alternates. Bidders must provide pricing for the base bid and several alternates, including adding a covered porch area, a new roof at Building "B", deleting certain office renovations, omitting retractable wall panels, using a different roofing membrane, and adding an on-site septic system. The contract will be awarded based on the best interest of SFASU, and the university reserves the right to reject any and all bid items.

GLS Job No.: 501154

NOTICE TO BIDDERS:

This addendum shall be considered a part of the contract documents for the above named project and incorporated with the issued documents and specifications dated July 26, 2023, and all addenda issued thereof. This Addendum Number Two (002) dated September 12, 2023, shall govern and take precedence. This Addendum consists of thirteen (13) pages.

The bid date has been changed to be Tuesday, October 17, 2023. The time and location remain unchanged.

CLARIFICATIONS:

1. There is a tank on the NW side of the building near the well house. It is 14' off the building and will be inches from the footing for the new retainer wall. Is this tank to remain, and will water lines have to be relocated in order to install retainer wall?

See revised sheet C1 .00 attached. Tank and well house will remain. Retaining wall is relocated per this drawing.

2. Will the vegetation on the North side of the building and around the existing covered parking need to be removed?

Contractor shall clear all vegetation, brush, etc. within 1 O' of the north, east and south side of the building. All areas between south face off the building and parking shall be clear of existing grass/weeds and resodded.

3. There is a portable building adjacent to the existing covered parking that is to be removed.

Is the portable building to remain? Also, is the fencing that in front of portable building to remain or be removed?

Remove storage building at the south end of the covered parking area down to the slab.

Portable building on north end, along with the covered parking area and fencing in front of covered parking area shall remain.

4. On Sheet C1 .00 there is an offset on the East parking lot where we are to remove 7 SY of concrete. On Sheet C1 .01 it appears the East side of the parking lot is straight. Are we to add additional paving similar to the South parking in order to make parking straight?

See revised sheet C1 .01 attached.

5. Where are the details for the bollards and speed bump?

Omit speed bump and bollard.
