About this file
This is a Scope of Work document for the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) outlining a Crime Lab Dedicated Circuit Study. The project involves comprehensive electrical power circuit tracing across multiple TXDPS crime lab facilities, including the entire Building Q at 5805 N. Lamar Boulevard in Austin, Texas; partial coverage of Building I at the same Austin location; and the entire Waco facility at 1617 E. Crest Drive, Waco, Texas. The contractor will be responsible for tracing all electrical power circuits connected to outlets and equipment within the designated lab spaces, utilizing equipment-based tracing methods and verifying accuracy by de-energizing circuits at completion. The contractor must provide detailed plans documenting the location of all outlets and equipment with corresponding panel and breaker numbers, which may be submitted as hand-drawn notes on PDF floor plans for TXDPS to convert to computer format and verify. After-hours outages may be required and must be coordinated with TXDPS. Upon verification of accuracy, the contractor will install labels on all devices and equipment to identify their circuits.
TXDPS will provide existing as-built drawings and PDF copies of floor plans to support the contractor's work. The Scope of Work does not specify pricing terms, contract duration, renewal options, funding sources, set-asides, or award dates. No information regarding bidder meetings, site visits, response dates, or incumbents is included in this document.

- HQ - Bldg. Q - 5805 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752 (Entire building)
- HQ - Bldg. I - 5805 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752 (Partial building)
- Waco - 1617 E. Crest Dr, Waco, TX 76705 (Entire building)
TXDPS will provide any as-builts, if they exist, and a pdf copy of the floor plans.
The Contractor will circuit trace all outlets and other equipment located in the lab spaces indicated on the plans.
Contractor will provide plans showing where all outlets and other equipment are located along panel and breaker numbers. These can be hand-drawn notes on a pdf plan for the area. DPS will transfer this to a computer version that the contractor will verify for accuracy.
Contractor will perform the tracing using tracing equipment but will verify for accuracy by turning off power at completion. The outages will have to be coordinated and potentially after-hours. After verified for accuracy, install a label on all devices and equipment.
