About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to Bid No. 26-24 issued by the City of Huntsville, Texas on June 10, 2026, for fire extinguisher, sprinkler, and multi-alarm inspections and monitoring services across multiple city facilities. The solicitation requires vendors to provide comprehensive services including portable fire extinguisher inspections and recharging (2.5 LB through 20 LB ABC and CO2 units, Class K units, and Halon units), hydrostatic testing, kitchen hood inspections (annual and semi-annual), fire alarm and sprinkler system inspections meeting NFPA standards, and 24/7/365 monitoring services for fire and security alarm systems. Services are required for facilities including City Hall, Public Library, Police Department, Fire Stations 1, 2, and 4, MLK Center, Sam Houston Visitor Center, Service Center, Wynne Home, and others. A mandatory site visit occurred on June 3, 2026, with questions due by June 8, 2026. Sealed bids are due by 2:30 P.M. Central Standard Time on June 18, 2026, with award anticipated in July 2026. The contract term runs from August 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027, with four optional one-year renewal periods available through September 30, 2031.

The addendum clarifies critical operational details through a questions and answers section, including confirmation that Building Reports software is acceptable for submitting inspection reports, vent hood inspection frequency of every six months, availability of approximately 10 backflow devices, the potential for multiple inspections to be scheduled simultaneously, and the ability to swap pre-serviced fire extinguishers on-site rather than transporting units off-site. Vendors must submit unit pricing for all line items on the provided price table, including separate pricing for alarm repair services and sprinkler repair services at regular and after-hours rates. The solicitation will evaluate responses based on best value rather than lowest price alone, with award determination pending regarding whether it will be made by individual line item, service category, or in aggregate to a single vendor. All prospective bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by including a signed acknowledgment form with their bid packet, with failure to do so resulting in disqualification. No set-asides or incumbent contractors are identified in the documentation.
