About this file

This is a Scope of Work document for the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) outlining construction and installation services for a climate-controlled storage container project. The primary work includes installing a 100-ampere electrical power feed from the bio warehouse electrical room to a 40-foot climate-controlled storage container via conduit routed through the facility and underground; installing one-inch conduit for data and security cabling (card reader, security camera, and data drop) with similar routing; constructing eight reinforced concrete pads (24 inches by 24 inches by 6 inches) beneath the container to level and distribute its load; patching and sealing all penetrations to ensure weather-tightness; and providing coordination during container delivery and setup by other vendors. The contractor must adhere to strict scheduling requirements, performing bio warehouse work between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, with all other work permitted between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM on weekdays and outside hours by prior approval. A mandatory pre-bid site visit is required before proposal submission, and a preconstruction conference must occur before work commences. All work must comply with applicable building codes, ADA/ADAAG/Texas Accessibility Standards regulations, and current International Building Code standards.

The contractor is responsible for obtaining all permits, providing qualified personnel with a minimum of three years' field experience, and maintaining a one-year warranty on all installation work from the date of substantial completion. The project occurs at an occupied TXDPS facility requiring minimal disruption to operations, with the contractor responsible for protecting existing work, managing construction debris disposal (without using TXDPS facilities unless authorized), maintaining a neat staging area, and securing the site daily with temporary closures using 3/4-inch plywood. The contractor must provide emergency contact information and respond within two hours to emergency situations, submit detailed submittals including manufacturer technical data and three similar project references, and conduct a pre-job damage survey with photographic documentation. DPS reserves the right to reduce the scope of work and may require schedule adjustments with 72-hour advance notice from the contractor. Final payment is contingent upon successful final inspection, completion of punch list items, and return of all security badges.
