About this file

This is an Addendum No. 01 document dated March 17, 2026, for the Javelina House Demolition project at Texas A&M University - Kingsville (Project #2026-06935). The addendum revises specific sections of the original bid package related to demolition and site restoration work. Key revisions include updates to foundation removal depth requirements (minimum elevation of 68.00 feet with deeper areas to be abandoned), mandatory sod installation on all disturbed areas with prompt placement following final grading, salvage and replacement of concrete pavers and benches by the owner, updated construction fence limits with protection callouts for existing ADA parking and signage, electrical panel removal rather than relocation, and windscreen specifications for perimeter fencing using Pantone 286 blue color. Additional clarifications address windscreen color sample submissions, sod installation requirements, temporary modification or removal of street curbs to accommodate construction entrances, perimeter fence removal upon demolition completion with orange safety fencing installation, and owner responsibility for trimming existing oak trees prior to contractor mobilization.

The addendum responds to 18 bidder questions addressing critical project requirements and responsibilities. Notable clarifications include confirmation that no bid bond is required but Performance and Payment Bonds are mandatory, normal work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday excluding university holidays, owner responsibility for air monitoring during asbestos abatement with electricity and water provided by the university, contractor responsibility for site lighting fixture replacement if damaged during electrical rerouting and for repairing irrigation/sprinkler system damage, and contractor obligation to maintain and water installed sod for 90 days post-completion. The contractor bears responsibility for repairing and restoring all university property damaged during demolition or haul-off operations and must obtain hot work permits as required. Temporary closures of sidewalks and streets require prior coordination and approval from TAMUK through the contractor's Traffic Control Plan.
