About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to an Invitation for Bid (IFB 26-004/CG) issued by Jefferson County Purchasing Department in Beaumont, Texas, for a term contract covering generator inspections, routine maintenance, and service across Jefferson County facilities. The addendum was issued on March 2, 2026, to clarify vendor questions and correct page number references in the original specifications. Bids are due by 11:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The contract requires semi-annual inspections of generators upon request by each department, with inspection requirements detailed in Section 4 of the specifications. All generators are accessible by truck within 50 feet, with one notable exception at Sabine Pass, where the generator is mounted on a stand-alone platform 10 feet above ground with built-in stairs and direct truck access. Most generator units have one Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), though a few units have two ATS switches.

The addendum confirms that load bank testing is not required to be quoted as part of the yearly service, and ATS services are required on a semi-annual basis as outlined in the inspection section rather than as a separate annual requirement. A bid bond is not required for bid submission. The specifications document comprises 51 pages, with the bid form located on page 51. This addendum supersedes any conflicting information in previously issued documents and must be acknowledged by bidders either as part of the sealed bid submission or in a separate sealed envelope if the bid has already been received by the purchasing department.
