Specification Summary

This is a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) specification for gas engine-driven centrifugal pumps issued in November 2025. The specification outlines procurement requirements for pumps to be used in slide-in brine spraying tanks at the TxDOT East Bexar County Maintenance Office in San Antonio, Texas. The pumps must be latest-model, new equipment with cast iron construction, equipped with a Honda GX240 (8HP) electric start engine, featuring 2-inch suction connections and 1-1/2-inch discharge connections. The pumps must meet specific performance parameters: maximum pressure of 140 PSI, maximum flow of 140 GPM, and a minimum 5.6-quart fuel tank capacity with electrophoretic coating on interior surfaces. Exact dimensions are specified at 17 inches in length, 18.25 inches in width, and 16.125 inches in height. Delivery must be completed within a specified timeframe to the East Bexar County Maintenance Office at 9320 SE Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78223. All pumps are subject to acceptance inspection and performance testing within five working days of receipt.

The specification requires vendors to provide completely assembled and adjusted pumps ready for continuous operation upon delivery. Material and performance warranties of not less than twelve months covering 100 percent parts and labor are mandatory, with the warranty period commencing upon TxDOT's acceptance. Vendors must supply operational and service manuals with illustrated parts lists, operating instructions, and maintenance intervals for each pump delivered. The specification establishes delivery requirements with potential contract cancellation or extension at TxDOT's discretion, vendor performance monitoring mechanisms, and provisions for TxDOT to purchase replacement pumps elsewhere if delivery or specification compliance fails, with vendors liable for any additional costs incurred.
