About this file
The University of Texas at Austin has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for Capital Planning & Construction Project Management System Software through its Procurement and Payment Services. The RFI seeks information from companies about software solutions for Owner's Representatives in a higher education setting, specifically to support the Planning Design and Construction (PDC) department, which currently manages a $5B Capital Plan with approximately 700 active projects. The RFI was released on Friday, October 17, 2025, with responses due by Friday, November 21, 2025, at 2:00 pm, and system demonstrations scheduled for December 1-5, 2025. Responses are to be submitted through the University Bonfire Portal, with the intent of gathering information to develop a future Request for Proposal (RFP).
The university operates an extensive campus with 427 acres, approximately 18 million gross square feet of buildings on the main campus, and eight additional extended campuses totaling 1,300 acres and 3.5 million gross square feet. The RFI requests detailed information from potential vendors, including company overview, software capabilities for capital planning and project delivery, implementation timeline, demo opportunities, and additional recommendations. The document explicitly states that no compensation will be provided to respondents for preparation expenses, and all submitted materials may be subject to public disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act. The primary goal is to identify a new planning and project management software solution to effectively manage the university's large portfolio of construction and capital improvement work.
