About this file

Attachment A is a specifications document from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for repair parts for Bard Air Conditioning units used in their Air Monitoring Network sites. The document details precise technical specifications for two primary HVAC units - a one-ton and a one-and-a-half-ton heating, ventilation, and air conditioning unit - along with specific component parts such as condenser capacitors and heat strips. These units are critical for maintaining optimal working temperatures within enclosures housing air monitoring equipment, and the specifications outline detailed requirements for wall-mountable units with specific cooling capacities, energy efficiency ratings, electrical specifications, and warranty terms.

The specifications include precise technical requirements for each unit, such as minimum cooling capacities ranging from 13,000 to 17,400 British Thermal Units (BTUs) per hour, mandatory Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) certification, voltage and phase requirements, and color specifications (beige or buckeye gray baked enamel). Each unit must include factory-installed electric heat strips, specific control mechanisms, fresh air dampers, and MERV2 disposable filters. The document provides example Bard part numbers for each unit type and allows for TCEQ-approved equivalents, with a clear note that any units not appropriately sized for existing openings will have increased installation costs factored into best value calculations. The specifications also mandate a minimum five-year limited parts warranty for the units.

Attachment A Specifications for Repair Parts for Bard Air Conditioning Units

Description: The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality repairs and maintains Bard Air Conditioning units that have been installed at TCEQ Air Monitoring Network sites to maintain optimal working temperatures within the enclosures housing the air monitoring equipment.

When these units fail due to extended use and weather conditions, they are serviced or replaced onsite. Numerous parts are required to repair the different models of malfunctioning units.

These specifications refer to the specific Bard parts required for maintenance, repair, or replacement.
