About this file
This project manual is for an electrical feeder project at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, specifically for installing an electrical feeder (designated as 01W) to the South Central Plant. The project is being managed by Lamar University and the electrical engineering is being handled by Dabhi Engineering Associates, Inc. The construction documents are dated February 21, 2025, and cover electrical systems installation including conduits, conductors, pull boxes, junction boxes, metal framing, and related electrical infrastructure. The project involves detailed specifications for electrical raceways, insulated conductors, and control cabinets, with comprehensive technical requirements for installation, materials, testing, and compliance with national electrical standards.
The project manual provides extensive technical specifications for electrical systems installation, including requirements for rigid steel conduits, galvanized steel components, medium voltage conductors, and installation methods. The specifications emphasize strict adherence to National Electrical Code (NEC), ANSI, NEMA, and other industry standards. Materials must be new, of first-class quality, and from approved manufacturers. The project includes provisions for field testing, documentation, warranty, and final review processes. Contractors must have significant experience, a master electrician on staff, and the ability to provide comprehensive documentation, including as-built drawings and owner's manuals. The project aims to ensure a high-quality, code-compliant electrical infrastructure installation for Lamar University's South Central Plant.
