About this file
This document is an Addendum to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the Statewide Procurement Division (SPD), a division of the Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) for the State of Texas, for athletic shoes. The Addendum changes the specifications for Line Items 1 and 2 from "Athletic Basketball Shoe, Unisex" to "Athletic Basketball Shoe, Unisex or Men's". The Addendum also provides responses to several questions from potential respondents, including clarifying that both men's and unisex shoes are acceptable, that there is no guaranteed purchase volume, and that the referenced brand example is required but polyurethane leather material is not acceptable.
The athletic shoes contract is available to any Texas SmartBuy member, which includes state agencies and local jurisdictions such as Travis County and the City of Austin. While no specific purchase volumes are guaranteed, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) facilities estimate potentially purchasing 2,500 pairs per month. Respondents must provide complete descriptive information on the products offered, and only responses on brands of like nature and quality will be considered.
