About this file
This document is an Addendum to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the Statewide Procurement Division (SPD), a division of the Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) for the state of Texas. The IFB is for the procurement of tin cans with ends for food processing, and canning equipment maintenance. A major customer for these items is the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). The addendum changes the bid opening date from October 3, 2024, to October 8, 2024, and provides responses to several questions related to the tin plate gauge, sample submissions, and the production/cooking process. The contract will serve multiple jurisdictions within the state of Texas, including Brazoria County and the City of San Antonio.
The IFB requires the successful bidder to provide food-safe enamel or lacquer coated tin cans and ends that meet the specified requirements. Bidders are not allowed to quote 107# tin plate gauge cans, as the specifications call for 95# tin plate gauge. The addendum provides details on the production and cooking process, including temperatures and times for various food items. The contract does not include provisions for emergency service calls.
