Questions and Answers:
1. Would you please send me the pre-bid meeting attendees list for the "Fabrication and
Installation - Impound Lot Canopy - Department of Public Safety" project?
a. Please see Mandatory Site Visit sign in sheet attached to this Addendum.
2. At Lines 2 & 3 it is showing exterior wall panels on both walls but only 6" space between. One wall could be installed first before the steel on the other wall is erected but once the first wall is installed it is going to be dang near impossible to get the second set of wall sheets installed. How do you want to handle this?
a. Shift girts at these two grids inward to be flush with frame flange. Increase the dimension between grids by 6”. This will result in a 2’-4” dimension between grids. These two adjustments will allow more room to install the panels.
3. At the same FL 2-3 does this need to remain to separate Canopies or can it be combined into 1 and make a common frame at that location?
a. It is acceptable to combine the two canopies to one canopy. If that does occur ignore the answer to question 2 above.
4. Can X-bracing to the ground be utilized at the Low Side Wall to the ground for lateral bracing?
a. X-bracing to the ground is permitted.
5. Will the fence be removed during Construction?
a. The fencing is not planned to be removed. If removing a section of fence is going to improve the feasibility of the installation, feel free to include removal and installation as Add Alternate 4 in your bid.
6. Do inground junction boxes, stub up and electrical room or does building have to be penetrated?
a. Drawings included in the Statement of Work indicate for a new underground conduit run, from new canopy to existing building. In ground junction boxes will need to be provided as required for new run and contractor will need to penetrate building for new conduit entrance. If existing vault has room and is accessible to be used for new conduit entrance, then that is acceptable
7. Is aluminum service wire acceptable for the new panel or is copper required?
a. Please refer to Statement of Work section 26 05 13, Building Wire and Cable for acceptable wire.
