Solicitation # EQ2PSEUA-17-0006

Question and Answer for Historic Ceiling Restoration Project

1. On the RFP it talks about an alternate for period lighting. Is the base bid a price to match the big dish and the alternate to match period lighting?

1.) Response:

Base to include the light fixture equal to that present on other stairwell lobbies.

2. Or is the base bid to mount a surface mounted generic fixture and the alternate to match the big dish like the floor below?

2.) Response:

No. See response to question 1.

3. RFP talks about all electrical in conduit. Are we rerunning the circuits to the light or are we reusing the wiring that is in place?

3.) Response:

The existing lighting service wiring is original and shall be replaced. Replace wiring & conduit from where the new fixture is to be installed back to the nearest junction box located above the ceiling.

4. The RFP calls for testing for hazardous materials. How do we account for possible hazardous materials in our bid? It would be significant if we found asbestos to be in the plaster. Do you know if there is or isn't asbestos in the plaster?

4.) Response I suspect lead paint is everywhere. Other hazardous materials ACM need to be accounted for called for proposal indicates.

5. #5.2 mentions a replica of the plaster ceiling. Is this done in place to remain if acceptable?

5.) Response:

As necessary portions of the plaster ceiling will require reconstruction. This may be achieved by applying conventional means & methods at these specific locations allowing transition to areas of the ceiling to remain.
