• A sample was drawn from the NPSAS study to launch a BPS or a B&B study in alternative administrations.
• A student interview was used to collect information about family background and educational experiences.

In NPSAS:16 and previous studies
• Administrative data from institutional student records and other sources were obtained to capture data on financial aid and enrollment.
• In NPSAS:16, there was an oversample of veterans receiving veterans administration benefits.
