About this file
This document is a Power Supply Piping Installation Specification for the PIP-II Cryomodule Test Facility (CMTF) at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. The specification covers the installation of a low conductivity water (LCW) piping system to supply five radio frequency amplifiers, located primarily on the mezzanine over the control room. The system will operate at a design pressure of 150 PSIG and a design temperature of 200°F, with water temperature ranging from 60°F to 125°F.
The specification provides detailed technical requirements for piping installation, including material specifications (ASTM A312 stainless steel), welding procedures, inspection protocols, and testing requirements. All piping, valves, and instrumentation will be supplied by FERMIFORWARD, with the subcontractor responsible for installation, welding, and system testing. Critical requirements include argon gas purging during welding, pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing, and comprehensive documentation of welding procedures and welder qualifications. The project will follow multiple ASME, ASTM, and Fermilab safety and technical standards.
