NOAA Ship FERDINAND R. HASSLER Air Conditioning System Condenser Replacement
1. Work Description – Includes labor, material and equipment to replace #1 Air Conditioning (AC) System Condenser and provide a ship’s spare condenser.
2. References
(a) Standard Specification AMC-000-3C, “General Requirements for Small Contract Ship Repairs”
(b) 25 Ton Carrier Transicold model number 30HWA028-D-621MA (2 each)
Condenser Ketema Type 90002-1182-38 (2 each)
Shell side 450 MAWP psi at 150/250 degrees F Tube side (exempt) 150 MAWP psi at (exempt) 150 degrees Shell MDMT -20 degrees F at 450 psi Tube MDMT (exempt) -20 degrees F at exempt 150 psi
3. Government Furnished Material
3.1 None.
4. Work Requirements
4.1 General – The following requirements apply to all work:
4.1.1 Except as otherwise specified, the contractor shall provide all labor, material, services, tools, supervision, and technical expertise needed to accomplish the work required by this specification and in accordance with Reference (a).
4.1.2 All work is scheduled to be performed at the following address:
NOAA Ship Ferdinand R. Hassler UNH Judd Greg Marine Science Complex 29 Wentworth Rd New Castle, NH 03854
4.2 Purchase and deliver to the ship two AC condensers of the same form, fit and function as the existing two AC condensers.
4.3 Provide the services of a marine refrigeration field service technician and replace #1 AC condenser.
4.3 Make all necessary repairs to ensure proper reliable AC operation.
4.4 After all repairs have been completed and #1 AC condenser has been replaced perform an operational test of the AC plant to ensure proper operation for 72 hours. Check for seawater leaks and refrigerant leaks.
Correct all leaks.
4.5 Deliver the second condenser to the ship for ship’s spares.
5. Quality Assurance
5.1 COTR inspection.
6. Notes
6.1 Ship’s force will be available to operate and secure ship’s equipment.
