English RESET

• Soft abrasive cleaners may be used when necessary to clean KOHLER" vitreous china products. Strong abrasive cleaners will scratch and dull the surface.

• Most toilet bowl cleaners are safe to use on vitreous china. Follow label directions and use toilet bowl cleaners on the inside of the bowl only.

• Do not use in-tank toilet cleaners as they can damage the flush valve or other working parts.

• Wipe any splashes of cleaner solutions from plastic or plated surfaces immediately.

Success with cleaners and procedures is dependent upon such factors as the hardness and temperature of the water, using exacl measurements of ingredients, changes in cleaning formulas and the condition of the product being cleaned. Since there are variations within these factors, Kohler cannot guarantee the effectiveness of the formulas mentioned.

Care Tip

Over time, hard water deposits may clog toilet rim holes and trapways. To clean, purchase a commercial cleaner that's recommended for the removal of hard water deposits. Follow all instructions on the package.

Care and Cleaning

To keep this KOHLER urinal looking and performing its best, it is important to follow these care and cleaning procedures.

Use the KOHLER products listed below for optimum care and cleaning results. Purchase these products from a KOHLER distributor or call 1-800-4KOHLER for ordering information.

128 oz. (3.8 L) sealing liquid 1048656 32 oz. (946 ml) cleaner 1174866 Urinal ball 1173387

Daily Cleaning Spray the KOHLER cleaner over the outer surfaces of the urinal.

Allow some cleaner to run down the drain.

Allow the cleaner to stand for approximately one minute.

Wipe the outer surfaces with a clean, non-abrasive cloth.

If necessary, repeat this procedure for heavier soils still present on the urinal.

To minimize odor and avoid sediment build-up in the trapway, it is important to flush out your waterless urinal every two weeks. Please follow the ″Required Two-Week Flush-out Cleaning″ procedure below.

Required Two-Week Flush-Out Cleaning

IMPORTANT! Do not set the urinal ball directly into the drain or force it through the strainer, as this may cause blockage.

IMPORTANT! Always keep the strainer in place over the urinal drain to prevent debris from entering the drain.

IMPORTANT! Do not use cleaners containing anti-bacterial agents, or any other urinal puck or mat, as these may reduce the effectiveness of the urinal ball.

IMPORTANT! Failure to perform flush-out cleaning may eventually result in a clogged urinal. If the urinal becomes clogged, use a plunger, urinal auger, or non-KOHLER brand strong acid cleaner. If you use a non-KOHLER brand strong acid cleaner, thoroughly rinse the urinal with water after application to minimize acid corrosion on the seal gasket and downstream piping.

Repeat the daily cleaning procedure.

Remove the used urinal ball and discard.

Care and Cleaning (cont.)

Using a small screwdriver or bent wire, carefully lift the strainer vertically from the drain. Clean the strainer and set it aside.

Quickly pour one gallon of water directly into the drain. Do not let the urinal overflow. This will purge the residual urine and sealing liquid.

Unscrew the spray nozzle from the cleaner bottle. Pour 1 oz. (30

ml) or 2 tablespoons of cleaner directly into the drain.

Allow the cleaner to stand for 5 to 10 minutes.

Pour two gallons of water directly into the drain as quickly as possible. Do not let the urinal overflow.

Pour 3 oz. (90 ml) or approximately 1/3 cup of sealing liquid directly into the drain.

Reinstall the strainer.

Set a fresh urinal ball in the urinal.

Winterizing the Urinal Repeat the daily and flush-out cleaning procedures, but do not replace the sealing liquid or urinal ball after the flush-out.

NOTE: Use recreational-use antifreeze only. Recreational-use antifreeze is specifically formulated for winterizing all types of potable water supply systems, preventing rust, and protecting metal pipes.

Pour recreational-use antifreeze directly into the drain.

Reinstall the strainer.

IMPORTANT! Before using the urinal again, remove the strainer and flush out the antifreeze with 1 gallon (3.79 L) of water. Pour 3

oz. (90 ml) or approximately 1/3 cup of sealing liquid directly into the drain, then reinstall the strainer. Set a fresh urinal ball in the urinal. The urinal is now ready for use.

FRP CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS 6218

Rev. 9 I 09/2009

FREQUENCY:

Clean weekly or on a regular schedule with a mild cleaner so soil and dirt will not build up.

MATERIAL:

A 5% to 10% trisodium phosphate water solution not to exceed 130°F can be used. If trisodium phos-phate is not available in your area, use a 5% to 10% solution of household automatic dishwasher de-tergent. If a USDAIFSIS or FDA approved cleaner is required, a neutral cleaner (PH range 6.5-7.5) is preferred. Follow the manufacturer's directions. Do not use a cleaner or stain remover that contains chlorinated hydrocarbons or aromatic hydrocarbons. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

METHOD:

The embossed surface of frp panels can best be cleaned with a sponge or soft brush. Apply the cleaner, working it across the surface in a scrubbing or circular motion. Rinse very thoroughly to remove all traces of the trisodium phosphate, otherwise a film will build up giving the wall a dull, dirty appearance. When using a specialty cleaner, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Test a small

- area before applying over the entire surface.

Removing Norma) Grime or Dirt:

Steam-cleaning procedures normally employed on ceramic wall surfaces in USDAIFSIS in spected facilities may be used on frp wall and ceiling panels. A 10% solution of trisodium phosphate in warm water (not to exceed 130°F), may be applied in a scrubbing motion, using sponge, brush, or cloth. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning.

Removing Hard Water Deposits:

A 10% solution of acetic acid in cold water may be applied in a scrubbing motion, using sponge, brush, or cloth. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning.

Removing Oil Residues or Difficult Substances:

Mineral spirits, applied with a clean cloth, will aid in removing most oily residues or substances.
