About this file

This document includes a federal contract opportunity solicitation for the procurement of a Beckman Coulter Access System for Acoustic Dispensing Systems with accessories or equal to support ongoing SARS-CoV-2 screening work. The National Institutes of Health National Institute on Drug Abuse seeks to obtain an acoustic liquid handling system to facilitate high-throughput single agent and combination assays in 1536-well plate format within its newly established Biosafety Level 3 laboratory. Offerors must submit responses by 11:00 a.m. on April 11, 2022 referencing solicitation number 75N95022Q00162 and including a completed Excel spreadsheet detailing the system's salient characteristics and capabilities to electronically to the specified contracting officer. Award will be made to the responsible offeror whose quote is most advantageous based on technical capability and price.

The system sought includes an Access base station with integrated devices, installation and training services, a rear automation table, rear echo integration, a barcode reader, delidder, random access storage racks, computing hardware, and various software packages for cherry picking, dose response, and plate reformatting. The liquid handler must be compatible with a range of reagent types and volumes in various assay formats, support 24/7 operation, and integrate with an automated incubator. Delivery within 60 days is required.

Robotic system, scheduling software and peripherals must be fully compatible and integratable with existing Labcyte ECHO 525 and ECHO 650 acoustic dispensers.
The system must support a variety of reagent types; including DMSO, PCR and qPCR reagents, synthetic biology reagents, NGS reagents, primers and probes, cell culture media, proteins, nucleic acids, up to 50% glycerol, serum, plasma, antibodies, enzymes, and protein crystallography reagents.
Must be capable of 24/7 operation.
System must include Echo expansion software for cherry picking and IC50. It must have the ability to manipulate cherry picking and IC50 on the Echo via a standard, non-custom interface.
System must have integrated, random accessible, automated humidified CO2 incubator for plate storage and incubation.
System must be capable of handling, in an automated fashion, plates with lids or foil seals to centrifuge, remove seal, handle liquid dispense, and seal/re-lid post transfer.
The acoustic liquid handler must support a variety of reagent types; including DMSO, PCR and qPCR reagents, synthetic biology reagents, NGS reagents, primers and probes, cell culture media, proteins, nucleic acids, up to 50% glycerol, serum, plasma, antibodies, enzymes, and protein crystallography reagents.
The acoustic liquid handler must NOT require any reagent specific calibration.
The instrument can transfer multiple fluid types and volumes from one plate into another plate enabling rapid assay creation from one source plate.
Must be a completely non-contact dispense. The instrument uses acoustic energy to transfer fluids. The instrument does not require tips, nozzles, or pin tools during fluid transfer. This eliminates the possibility of samples adhering to the tips, tip carryover, or tip leachates entering the sample.
The instrument uses a single transducer to transfer samples acoustically from a source plate to an inverted destination plate.
The instrument can transfer reagents in the following ways: *One well to one well for plate replication in 384 and 1536 well patterns. *One well to many wells to distribute solutions to destination plates containing 1 - ≥3456 wells or target locations.
Any well to any well which enables cherry picking, hit picking, and reformatting of solutions to destination plates containing 1 - ≥3456 wells or target locations.
Must include Echo expansion software for cherry picking and and IC50. The DRP must have the ability to manipulate cherry picking and IC50 on the Echo via a standard, non-custom interface.
