About this file

This document is an upfitter guide produced by the Oregon State Police (OSP) for the Dodge Durango police vehicle platform. The guide provides comprehensive technical specifications and step-by-step installation instructions for converting standard Durango SUVs into fully equipped law enforcement patrol vehicles. The upfitting process covers multiple major systems and components, including interior removal and reconfiguration, rear hatch light installation with radar cone mounting, roofline modifications with light bar and antenna placement, cargo compartment equipment tray installation, prisoner transport compartment setup with partitions and seating, driver compartment equipment mounting, center console configuration, and front bumper push bar installation with integrated lighting and siren systems. The guide specifies detailed parts lists with part numbers and quantities for each major section, covering components from manufacturers including Whelen, Feniex, Stalker, Harris, Axon, Setina, Cradle Point, and others. Installation procedures include wiring diagrams, cable routing specifications, light programming instructions, and mounting bracket locations with precise measurements.

The guide addresses both standard and specialized configurations, including variations for "slick top" vehicles that utilize different lighting systems. The document emphasizes proper vehicle preparation, including initial washing for decal application, and provides safety considerations such as proper handling of fragile rear hatch panels and correct fastener torque procedures. Wire routing is extensively detailed throughout the guide, with specifications for wire gauges (ranging from 10 AWG to 18 AWG), circuit assignments through the 911 26-circuit fuse panel, and ground stud locations. The upfitting scope represents a comprehensive law enforcement vehicle modification service that integrates emergency lighting, communication systems, prisoner transport safety features, and operational equipment into a cohesive mobile command and patrol platform, requiring skilled technician execution and adherence to Oregon State Police specifications.

Hatch Lights (Fenix Quads) Program to alternating flash patern, dual color red and blue, triple flash.

When programing the lights set the leader and follower first, this step resets the lights to default. If light color or pattern are done before, they will need to be set again to the desired settings.

Connect the light red wire (mode 1) to 12V+, and the black wire to ground. The yellow wire (mode 2), and white wire (mode 3) are not used.

Programing alternating flash paterns, with the light powered on hold the blue wire to ground for 3 seconds.

The light will turn a steady blue for leader and red for follower. Set the lights to one leader and one follower.

Programing colors with light powered on, momentarly tap the green wire to 12V+ to switch colors. Tap green wire until light flashes blue and red. 4 taps to 12v+ should set light to blue/red.
