Pre-Engineered Metal Storage Buildings

Questions and Answers #2

September 5, 2013

Q1. What is the requirement for clear height on the top of the racks for material stored?

A. For both buildings, the pallet racks shall be as shown for the Boneyard Building in Elevation H-H on Drawing No. SLS-

340-75/6. There will be two levels, each five (5) feet high for a total height of 10 feet. This may vary slightly depending on the exact dimensions of the manufacturer’s standard units, but the total height will be 10 feet +/- a couple of inches. The clear height above the racks will be the interior ceiling height minus the 10 feet, or approximately 6 feet. The cantilever rack units shall be at least 8 feet high, as stated in Drawing No. SLS-340-75 /4, but this may vary slightly according to the particular manufacturer’s standard dimensions; however, the unit shall be no less than 8 feet.

Q2. Item C.20 – b Interior Finish states that the interior surface of the wall and roof panels to be white or off white smooth finish. Please confirm that this is bottom side of the panels themselves and not separate interior wall sheeting. Please confirm the interior wall finish will be the exposed polypropylene surfacing on the insulation.
