BILLING OF LADING (BL) DATA REQUIREMENTS CODE LISTS

A. PURPOSE

A shipper will use this attachment to determine code values for specific blocks on the BL. Those blocks include:

1. Marks and Annotations (Accessorial/Protective Services)

a. For shipments under the Defense Freight Transportation Services (DFTS), see Chapter

213 of this regulation and the DFTS website, https://tms.crowley.com, found in the most current Performance Work Statement (PWS).

b. Assessment Qualifier Definitions: The most current assessment qualifier codes are available on the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Reference Data

Management System website at https://trdmws.maf.ustranscom.mil/. Click on “DTR Data” and “Assessment Qualifier”, and select “Display Data” from the Action Legends box.

2. Type Pack (Packages Kind): The most current type pack codes are available on the

USTRANSCOM Reference Data Management System website at https://trdmws.maf.ustranscom.mil/, Click on “DTR Data” and “Type Pack”, and select “Display

Data” from the Action Legends box.

3. Department of Defense (DoD) Unique Commodity Classification: The most current DoD unique commodity classification codes are available on the USTRANSCOM Reference Data

Management System website at https://trdmws.maf.ustranscom.mil/. Click on “DTR Data” and

“DoD Unique Commodity Classification”, and select “Display Data” from the Action Legends box.

4. Information on Car/Truckload/Container Type of Equipment: The most current transportation equipment type codes are available on the USTRANSCOM Reference Data Management System website at https://trdmws.maf.ustranscom.mil/. Click on “DTR Data” and “Transportation

Equipment Type”, and select “Display Data” from the Action Legends box.

5. Lading Bill Transportation Mode: The most current transportation mode codes are available on the USTRANSCOM Reference Data Management System website at https://trdmws.maf.ustranscom.mil/. Click on “DTR Data” and “Transportation Mode”, and select “Display Data” from the Action Legends box.

6. These codes are accessible by all users, to include Department of Defense contractors and vendors, through the Defense Transportation Electronic Business website at https://www.ustranscom.mil/cmd/associated/dteb/ by clicking on “Reference Data”.
