About this file
This is a Construction Bid Addendum No. 1 issued by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, State Facilities Administration Design & Construction Division for the Gus Harrison Correctional Facility Smoke Purge System Repair/Replace project (File Number 472/24055.DPL). The addendum, issued on September 25, 2026, provides clarifications and modifications to the bidding documents for this construction project. Key clarifications include specifications regarding ceiling modifications in the Support Services building, which features 12x12 surface-mounted tiles glued to existing cement board/plaster backing that contractors must modify as needed and restore to match existing conditions upon completion. Additionally, the addendum restricts storage of salvaged equipment and new construction materials inside the Support Services Building, requiring contractors to bring materials in and remove them as needed during work execution. For Housing Units 4 and 5, contractors must route new conduit for exhaust fans similar to existing installations, with existing conduit routed through the existing bulkhead. The bid opening date is scheduled for October 14, 2026, and the professional managing the project is Matrix Consulting Engineers, with David Lenz serving as Project Director.
Bidders must acknowledge this addendum in the Bid Summary and Bid Form, as failure to do so may result in bid rejection. The addendum was approved by Project Director David Lenz on September 25, 2026, and will become part of the contract documents. A pre-bid meeting attendance sign-in sheet was distributed with this addendum through www.michigan.gov/SIGMAVSS. The addendum contains no specific pricing information, funding amounts, or other financial terms, as it serves solely to clarify and modify the existing bidding documents for the project.
