the bid?

ANSWER: N/A

3. As per amendment 1, the performance period is

40 calendar days. According to the contract, overtime must be pre-approved prior to work being performed. Please clarify, because if all CLINs are “Definite” items, there seems to be a significant amount of work to be accomplished. It would seem unreasonable to be asked to accomplish this work on straight time in just 29 working days. Note that Monday 9/5/16 is a holiday as well. Could overtime be pre-approved so we can bid accordingly to get the work completed within the 40 calendar day period of performance?

ANSWER: The scope of work has been reexamined and decision made to expand the period of performance to 60 calendar days commencing on August 29th.

Please note that the contractor is expected to accomplish all work during normal shipboard work hours from Monday through Friday as stated in the

General Conditions as follows: “The Contractor will perform all work during normal shipboard work hours. Normal shipboard work hours are defined as Monday thru Friday, 0800 – 1700. The contractor is to advise if they intend to work aboard the vessel on weekends, holidays, or hours outside of 0800 thru 1700. No work will be permitted outside of normal working hours unless agreed to in advance with the COR and Chief

Engineer.” Work outside of normal working hours would only be authorized in extraordinary circumstances or in a situation such as if a portion of the work would require disconnecting all electrical power from the ship and accomplishing that portion after hours would be safer. No additional work hours will be authorized due to the contractor’s failure to properly plan or to provide sufficient man power.

4.For scheduling and mobilization purposes, what is the projected date of award?

ANSWER: Award will be made as soon as possible after opening of bids, however, as stated in

Amendment 0001, work cannot commence aboard the vessel until August 29th.
