Materials containing petroleum-based solvents such as cutback asphalts and traffic paints may be restricted from use by local laws or ordinances in certain geographic areas. Upon presenting proof of such restrictions, alternate materials considered acceptable to the CO may be substituted for the materials specified in the contract.
105.02 Material Sources
(b) Contractor-located sources. Add the following to the end of the first paragraph:
For Contractor-located, non-commercial sources, secure environmental clearances according to Subsection 107.10.
105.04 Storing and Handling Material. Add the following after the third sentence of the second paragraph:
For Contractor-located, non-commercial staging, storing, and material handling areas, secure environmental clearances according to Subsection 107.10.
All fill, rock, and additional topsoil will be obtained from this project if possible; and if not possible, then weed-free fill, rock, or additional topsoil would be obtained from Contractor-located sources outside of the Park. NPS personnel will certify that the source is weed-free.
Add the following:
The Contractor may use the Cal Pendleton Field at Station 187+65 Rt. and at the Capitol Gorge Parking Area at station 520+00 Rt. for staging areas, storage of materials, and stockpiles.
The Contractor will need to construct an access road to the Cal Pendleton Field site from the Bone Yard Access Road to gain access to the staging area. Contractor to remove the access road and restore the areas used for staging back to original condition, except for seeding, after construction is completed. The Park will reseed the area upon completion of the project.
The Contractor may use the Capitol Gorge parking area for staging areas, storage of materials, and stockpiles prior to completing the required work at the Parking Area. Once the Parking Area has been paved per the plans and details, the area will no longer be allowed as a staging, storage, or stockpiling area.
Vehicle and equipment parking will be limited to within the construction limits or approved staging areas.
Staging areas outside the Park are subject to approval by the CO and will be surveyed for noxious weeds and treated appropriately prior to use.
Water for project specific water requirements may be obtained from the Fremont River near the
Gifford Barn from April 1 through November 30. Use a fish screen on all pumps. Contractor must keep a log documenting water pumped from the river. Comply with all permits and State and local regulations. Coordinate with the Park regarding this use.
