Question: Topic 2: Assessments of Existing Paydays Insurance Offerings on Reduced Claims (Page 6 of 18). I am not completely clear on the deliverable in Topic 2 and would ask if you could offer a different explanation? It seems like this is more of a research project in terms of how PayDays might be deployed to the public and how the public might react either through behavioral changes including spending and driving less and the correlation with claims activity. Fewer miles result in fewer accidents etc. This could also include how FHWA might track behavioral changes after the implementation of Paydays.
FHWA Response: FHWA concurs with this portion of your interpretation of our goals. Specifically, FHWA would accept as a given a robust PAYDAYS insurance program being offered in the marketplace and then, as you indicated, want to have data collected and analyzed to determine how the public might react either through behavioral changes including spending and driving less and the correlation with claims activity.
