The image is a photograph of a white passenger ferry boat on calm blue water, with a tropical coastal background featuring palm trees and mountains. The boat appears to be the current ferry used to transport visitors to the USS Arizona Memorial at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The vessel has an open-air design with multiple decks and white railings, and is creating a wake as it moves through the water.

The associated federal contract opportunity is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command, solicitation number N00024-25-R-2215. The Navy is conducting market research to plan for procuring new passenger ferry boats and dockside infrastructure to replace the current diesel-powered ferries serving the USS Arizona Memorial. This RFI seeks information on technological advancements and potential solutions for future operational needs. It is explicitly noted that this is a planning-stage information gathering effort, not a formal solicitation, and respondents will not be compensated for their input.
